VITA CASTRO
1904 - 1987
Vita Castro was born in Oaxaca in 1904, and attended the open-air school of painting in Churubusco. After her husband died in 1947, she took up art as a career. In 1952, she studied in Europe under the tutelage of Angelina Beloff. Her printmaking was much admired, and she was a member of the Mexican Society of Engravers.
